Forgiveness - A Burden
Something happened recently that reminded me of this little parable I came across many years ago...
Forgiveness - The Sack of Potatoes
One of my teachers had each one of us bring a clear plastic bag and a sack of potatoes. For every person we refused to forgive for whatever they did, we were told to choose a potato, write on it the name and date, and put it in the plastic bag.
We were then told to carry this bag with us everywhere for two weeks, putting it beside our bed at night, on the car seat when driving, next to our desk at work, etc. The hassle of lugging this around with us made it clear what a weight we were carrying spiritually and emotionally, and how we had to pay attention to it all the time to not forget it and leave it in embarrassing places.
Naturally, the condition of the potatoes deteriorated. This was a great metaphor for the price we pay for nursing our grudges. Too often we think of forgiveness as a gift to the other person while it clearly is for ourselves!
"Forgiveness is to set a prisoner free, and to realize the prisoner was you." - Corrie Ten Boom, a Christian woman who survived a Nazi concentration camp during the Holocaust

Purple Hair?
It's been a long while since I last dyed my hair. For one with so little patience, I find sitting at the hair salons for hours waiting to get my hair coloured simply too challenging, and most DIY hair dyes out in the market are too difficult to use... literally arm- and neck-breaking! So when I saw a TV ad for this new product Liese Bubble Hair Color, I was just dyeing to try it! I chose a purplish color - Cassia Berry...
Much to my delight, it was really a breeze to use - Simply mix the 2 bottles of liquid together, squeeze the applicator and apply the foam onto your hair, just like shampooing! Piece of cake!
